Trends for Everyday

By: Melanie Knopke

If I buy a “trend” each season, I really want to be able to wear it. I don’t want a one hit wonder.  So, I tend to find on trend items that can work into my life and be worn many different ways. For me, it is all about the fit and silhouette. If something fits great, everything else falls into place!

Evereve does a great job finding on trend pieces that are easy to wear and versatile! I styled a few of my favorite trends this season and how they fit into my life of being a Mom/Stylist/Business Owner/ Traveler.

Velvet is everywhere this season. I found a pair of velvet jeans to be the perfect way to bring this trend into my closet. I would wear these with a tee shirt and my leather jacket, or dress it up a little more like I did here for when I am working with a client or if I was grabbing drinks with friends. You could also add a sexier cami for date night.

Dots are also a HUGE trend! I like the small scale of these dots, and the cut of the shirt. It’s also a tunic, which looks great with faux leather leggings for a night out. Working mamas, this is great with slacks too, or even under a jacket.

Top, only $58! Pants by AG (I took my true size, but they do run slim!), Shoes, Bag Sunglasses: Barton Perreira Dalizel

Leopard is the pattern of choice for Fall. I don’t even consider it as much of a “trend” as much as I would call it a neutral pattern. Personally, I haven’t stopped wearing leopard over the years.

If doing a full piece in this print is too much, you can always add it in your accessories. Like with these cute leopard pumps. I paired it back to my new dress, this amazing tie front shirt dress, which is under $80! I have worn this dress twice already; once to a charity breakfast and then to an evening event. You can really dress it up or down.

And guess what? This dress plays double duty It looks just as cute with tennis shoes as it does with heels. Have to go from work to volunteer at your kids school? Throw on some tennis shoes and you are good to go!

Cropped pants are here to stay; at least for one more season! I fell in love with these faux leather joggers at first sight. And this cozy sweatshirt, which I will be wearing all winter long. I love that you can break these pieces apart and wear them totally different. For instance, I have dressed these joggers up with a blouse but they look equally as great dressed down for a sneaker. I will wear the sweatshirt with jeans or even a faux leather skirt. I can’t tell you how much I love both of these purchases! They will be my go-to when I want something comfy, but still have a pulled together look.

Faux Leather Joggers (under $80! and I sized down to XS) , Sweatshirt ( make sure to size up if you want it slouchier, I am wearing a medium), Backpack, Shoes (similar here)
