Main Stage at Nichols Road & Pennsylvania, by Brio Tuscan Grille

The 87th annual KCP&L Plaza Lighting Ceremony will feature honorary guest, KC native Jack Sock to help "Flip the Switch" and usher in the holiday season on the Plaza. Sock, who brought home a gold and bronze medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics, is one of the top-ranked Americans in both singles and doubles on the ATP World Tour and is currently ranked 24th in the world.

Thanksgiving Day Timeline

5:00 – 6:00 pm: Pre-show with giveaways and performances featuring KC A Capella, Blue Valley High School Chamber Singers and KC Ballet 2nd Company.

6:00 – 7:00 pm: 87th Annual KCP&L Plaza Lighting Ceremony featuring our host from 41 ActionNews, Gary Lezak (broadcast LIVE on KSHB-TV). Lezak will be joined on stage with performances by the KCP&L Plaza Lights Singers and Dancers and the Brad Cunningham Band.

6:54 pm: Flip of the Switch by Jack Sock, Olympic medalist, followed by fireworks.

7:00 – 8:00 pm: Post-ceremony concert by The Elders.

The KCP&L Plaza Lights shine daily from 5pm to 3am, Thanksgiving through mid January.
